Oil on wrapped canvas

Plein Air Floral Landscape

Sunset view of butterfly bushes lighting up the cliff side along Commencement Bay overlook from Dash Point, Washington from summer. I was plein air painting along the cliff when the light began to fade and these beauties lit up. I was packing up so grabbed a canvas and quickly captured the scene. I ran out of paint, it was almost done but too dark, so I packed up. It was so close to done but that is how it goes sometime. Anyway last night I needed a break from the detailed pieces I am working on. I didn’t want to lose the energy from my plein air session so I only gave myself 10 minutes to finish and went for it. So fun to just slash finishing touches. Too, too fun!!!
